Our story began on June 7th, 2019, at a local, live music bar called British Brewing Company, otherwise known as BBC. Katherine and Daniel were both out that Friday night with friends. Katherine was watching the band play and saw a group of friends storming the dance floor ready to dance. One of Daniel's friends, thank you Christian, went live on Instagram and was showing the band and all of their friends dancing and singing. This entertained Katherine as she had never seen anyone do that at a bar and made her smile. As Daniel looked around, Katherine caught his eye and he made his way over to her. Daniel and Katherine talked the entire night as if no one else was in the bar. They continued to talk throughout the week and the next Friday, June 14th, they went on their first date.&nbsp; On September 18th, 2019, Daniel offered to Katherine (who, as most of you know, is the world's biggest dog lover) to go on a walk at Griggs Park and see all the dogs. Halfway into the walk, Daniel saw a few big rocks that they could sit on and suggested they stop for a little bit. While they watched the dogs run around and looked at the pretty view of downtown Dallas, Daniel officially asked Katherine to be his girlfriend! Fast forward to June, 2023. Katherine and Daniel were in Katherine's hometown taking a nice vacation after the school year for some fun days in the sun. But as for those from CA know, there is this thing called June gloom and it's a real thing. Daniel had planned a weekend for the two of them in San Diego, but gloomy weather changed all of that and their path led them to La Quinta. Unbeknownst to Katherine, Daniel had the weekend planned out. When they got to the desert, Daniel and Katherine played golf at the Greg Norman course. Daniel gave Katherine a few "I love you putts" instead of the usual gimme putts during the round, which made Katherine think he was being suspiciously sweet and up to something. Once back at the Resort, Daniel convinced Katherine to check out the Golden Retrievers that he had seen playing at "The Grove." Again, just like the first time when he asked her to be his girlfriend, Daniel knew how to get Katherine to this beautiful spot by saying let's go look at the dogs. When they arrived at The Grove, there were no dogs as Daniel had known all along. Instead, Daniel got down on one knee and proposed to Katherine in La Quinta, one of their most favorite places in the world. It truly was a day they will remember forever.

Our Story

There are many things to explore in La Quinta, but we love to stay onsite and enjoy the homey feel of the resort. Here are a few things that we love to do on property.

The La Quinta Resort is very spread out which gives it a feel that you are on vacation by yourself and not just at a hotel. The resort is full of one or two story casitas that surround various pools. There are 41 total pools, so if you don't like the one around you, you can just walk a few steps to another pool! We love to hang out by the pools and be able to walk back to our room, refill your drink, tune into a game for a break from the sun, or order room service straight to your pool.

The Resort

There is a marketplace right across from the lobby that serves coffee, breakfast, homemade breakfast burritos, wood fired pizzas, cold beverages, and beer and wine to grab and go. The plaza has 3 restaurants - Adobe Grill, Twenty6, and Morgan's in the Desert. There is just something special that we love about walking to and from dinner that makes us want to stay at the resort! Adobe Grill is our favorite restaurant, with it's authentic Mexican food and amazing margs and guacamole. We love to sit by the fountain and listen to the live music! Morgan's has contemporary American cuisine in a more formal setting. It's always fun to sit in the bar area after dinner to have a drink and listen to the pianist or relax on the patio by the fire pits outside. Twenty6, named after the year the resort was founded, serves classic comfort food. Perfect place to catch football games!

Main Plaza

The spa uniquely matches the vibes of the resort and is one of the best spa experiences that we've had. You can grab rackets and equipment at the fitness center if you'd like to play. The courts are one of a kind surrounded by the Santa Rosa mountains.

Spa & Fitness / Tennis & Pickleball

If we're not by the pool then we are out on the golf course. The PGA West Mountain Course is our favorite course and walking distance from the resort.
