Our story began on June 7th, 2019, at a local, live music bar called British Brewing Company, otherwise known as BBC. Katherine and Daniel were both out that Friday night with friends. Katherine was watching the band play and saw a group of friends storming the dance floor ready to dance. One of Daniel's friends, thank you Christian, went live on Instagram and was showing the band and all of their friends dancing and singing. This entertained Katherine as she had never seen anyone do that at a bar and made her smile. As Daniel looked around, Katherine caught his eye and he made his way over to her. Daniel and Katherine talked the entire night as if no one else was in the bar. They continued to talk throughout the week and the next Friday, June 14th, they went on their first date.

On September 18th, 2019, Daniel offered to Katherine (who, as most of you know, is the world's biggest dog lover) to go on a walk at Griggs Park and see all the dogs. Halfway into the walk, Daniel saw a few big rocks that they could sit on and suggested they stop for a little bit. While they watched the dogs run around and looked at the pretty view of downtown Dallas, Daniel officially asked Katherine to be his girlfriend!

Fast forward to June, 2023. Katherine and Daniel were in Katherine's hometown taking a nice vacation after the school year for some fun days in the sun. But as for those from CA know, there is this thing called June gloom and it's a real thing. Daniel had planned a weekend for the two of them in San Diego, but gloomy weather changed all of that and their path led them to La Quinta. Unbeknownst to Katherine, Daniel had the weekend planned out. When they got to the desert, Daniel and Katherine played golf at the Greg Norman course. Daniel gave Katherine a few "I love you putts" instead of the usual gimme putts during the round, which made Katherine think he was being suspiciously sweet and up to something. Once back at the Resort, Daniel convinced Katherine to check out the Golden Retrievers that he had seen playing at "The Grove." Again, just like the first time when he asked her to be his girlfriend, Daniel knew how to get Katherine to this beautiful spot by saying let's go look at the dogs. When they arrived at The Grove, there were no dogs as Daniel had known all along. Instead, Daniel got down on one knee and proposed to Katherine in La Quinta, one of their most favorite places in the world. It truly was a day they will remember forever.
